About
My name is Branche, and I run Remote Africa Life as a solo project.
I built this site after struggling to understand remote work and international payments as someone based in Africa. Like many people here, I didn’t lack motivation. I lacked clear, realistic information that actually applied to our situation.
I tried platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. I learned through confusion, mistakes, delays, and trial and error. I currently use:
Payoneer (personal account) to receive freelance and remote work payments
PayPal (business account) mainly for ecommerce and international transactions
Remote Africa Life exists to document what works, what doesn’t, and what Africans are rarely told about getting paid online.
What This Website Covers
Remote Africa Life focuses on practical, experience-based information, including:
How Africans receive payments from international clients
Payoneer, PayPal, Wise alternatives, fees, limits, and delays
Freelancing and remote work platforms that Africans can realistically use
Tools and workflows for working online from Africa
Common payment and platform mistakes beginners make
This site does not promise quick money, guaranteed income, or overnight success. Results vary, platforms change, and anyone serious about working online needs to verify details independently.
Why Trust Remote Africa Life
Real usage, not theory
I write from personal use and direct testing, especially around Payoneer and PayPal. When I recommend a platform, it’s because I’ve used it myself or spent time understanding how it works specifically for Africans.
Africa-specific reality
Most remote work advice online is written for people in the US or Europe. This site is written with African realities in mind: payment restrictions, withdrawal delays, fees, verification issues, and limited support.
Clear, boring details
I focus on explanations, timelines, fees, limits, and common failure points. This isn’t a motivation blog. It’s a reference site meant to reduce confusion and wasted time.
Independent and honest
I don’t promote platforms just because they pay commissions. If something doesn’t work well for Africans, I say so. If a tool has serious downsides, they’re explained.
Who This Site Is For
Remote Africa Life is for:
Africans trying to work remotely or freelance online
Beginners confused about international payments

It’s not for:

A Note on Responsibility
All content on this site is for informational purposes only. Platforms, fees, and policies change frequently. Always verify details directly with service providers before making financial decisions.
